New APsychA Poll Shows Sustained Anxiety Among Americans; More than Half of Parents are Concerned About the Mental Well-being of Their Children

According to a new public opinion poll released by the American Psychiatric Association (APsychA), concern about COVID-19 remains high, especially concern over loved ones, and more people are reporting mental health impacts from the pandemic than last year. Parents are especially concerned about their children’s mental well-being.


Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders in the Era of COVID-19: The Impact of the Pandemic on Communities of Color: Proceedings of a Workshop—in Brief (2021)

The Forum on Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine hosted a virtual workshop examining the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on mental health and substance use disorders (SUDs) on communities of color on November 23 and December 3 and 14, 2020. The workshop discussions addressed how the pandemic has influenced mental health and SUDs; access to health care and delivery of services for people with mental health disorders and SUDs; and the mental health well-being of the healthcare workforce.
